If you're in Douglas County, you're likely already familiar with the Tuscola Road Ranger, which has been featured in Just Askin' previously for consistently offering low gas prices.
They're still at it.
As of May 8, regular gas at the Road Ranger was $3.44 a gallon, 48 cents cheaper than the Illinois average that day.
Champaign County residents might be closer to the Champaign Sam's Club or Costco, both of which actually have that price beat at $3.38, though membership is required.
In Piatt County, the record holder is the Casey's in Atwood, with regular gas going for $3.48.
The Oakwood Phillips 66 is the best bet in Vermillion County, at $3.51.
Sorry, Ford County: your lowest price option is still the highest on the list. Regular gas at Zeel Mart in Sibley will cost you $3.59.
In general, gasoline is a little pricey at the moment. GasBuddy's Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis, reports that national prices are about 11 cents higher than a year ago.
However, there's good news on the horizon.
"We've seen the national average fade slightly again as oil prices have cooled and our spring peak appears to be more confidently behind us," De Haan said.
