German airline Lufthansa and its subsidiaries Swiss and Austrian Airlines announced the temporary suspension of all flights to Israel due to the current conflict in the Middle East.

Four flights scheduled between now and 7 am (0500GMT) on Saturday morning have been cancelled so far, a Lufthansa spokesman told dpa on Friday.

According to US media reports, at least one Israeli missile struck a target in Iran. There were initially no reports of damage.

Iran had attacked Israel last weekend with hundreds of drones and missiles in retaliation for a suspected Israeli attack on the Iranian embassy compound in Damascus.
