Man wanted in connection to Lynchburg homicide investigation arrested in Georgia

UPDATE: 6:50 P.M. LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — The Lynchburg Police Department says 23-year-old Travon Sudia Brunson has been arrested in Georgia and his extradition to Virginia is pending.



LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — The Lynchburg Police Department has announced that it is searching for a Lynchburg man who is a suspect in the homicide investigation of Tajuan Obrian “Brian” Johnson.

On April 14 just before 2:30 a.m., officers were called to the 1100 block of Main Street for a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a victim on Main Street and a second victim on 12th Street. Both men were rushed to the hospital for treatment.

However, Johnson died from his injuries.

As the investigation developed, 23-year-old Travon Sudia Brunson, from Lynchburg, was identified as a suspect. He was charged with:

  • Voluntary Manslaughter

  • Unlawful Wounding

  • Carrying a Concealed Weapon.

This case remains under investigation.
