'A love letter to the community': Middletown romance book store on the move

Description: A Novel Romance, a romance book store, is moving to a bigger location in Jeffersontown, owner Jonlyn Scrogham said.
The Middletown store at 11610 Main Street originally opened in July 2023, but Scrogham said business has been so going so well at the 280-square-foot store that they have to move to a bigger space.
"We really want it to be a love letter to the community because, again, the only reason that we're able to do this ... is because of the people that have supported us for the past eight months," Scrogham said.
The store will have a reading space, a place for people to write their own works and an area for kids with self-love books, she said.
The new store will have a soft opening on June 1 and a grand opening on June 15. Although Scrogham has not yet determined the date, the current location will close in May.
What's being replaced: The space was originally used by the Honey Depot & Coffee House, which moved in 2023.
Cost: Between $30,000 and $50,000.
Size: 2392 square feet.
