Love Island winners Paige Turley and Finn Tapp have opened up about their "awkward" meeting during Celebrity Ex on the Beach.

The pair coupled up during the sixth series of the ITV reality show back in 2020, taking the crown before eventually splitting up in April 2023.

Despite their breakup, the former couple soon found themselves close to each other once more as they both appeared in the third celebrity edition of MTV's Ex on the Beach, which is due to premiere next week (March 19).

The reunion will no doubt cause some drama, and the pair detailed their experience in an interview with OK! Magazine, revealing that it posed some issues despite their breakup being amicable.

"I only had one ex which was Paige so I knew it would be Paige coming on if I went in there," said Finn. "We left things amicable so I knew it wasn't going to cause me too much of a headache."

"It gave Finn and I a chance to delve into the breakup because we never really did it. So I'm grateful for that," added Paige. "The possibility of him getting to know somebody - I didn't look at how that would make me feel.

"It's awkward and the villa very quickly becomes a lot smaller when the other person is getting to know somebody. Meanwhile, Finn is a bit of a silent stopper."

The pair also revealed that they turned down an opportunity to feature in Love Island: All-Stars, which saw past Islanders return to the villa in the hope of finding love again. The duo both noted that the filming schedule for Ex on the Beach was more "appealing", and that they were "done" with Love Island.

"We had already done that experience and Ex on the Beach was more appealing," explained Finn, with Paige adding: "Filming is a lot less intense for Ex on the Beach. Love Island was an episode per night. It was just a very different experience and we're done with [it]."

Celebrity Ex on the Beach returns on March 19 on MTV and Paramount+. Love Island returns later this year on ITV2.
