Love Island's 2017 crop of contestants made such an impression on one fan that they've paid them a unique tribute.

Twitter user @tayls_kent has immortalised the likes of winners Kem and Amber and runners-up Jamie and Camilla as characters in The Sims, perhaps as a way to continue living Love Island until it returns in 2018.

"Just spent the last 2 hours creating the cast of Love Island on Sims. Now I remember why this game took over my childhood," they joked.

And we reckon the effort was well worth it.

Other Love Island fans agreed, although they did note that Kem was a bit too tall, possibly by around seven inches.

Even better is the fact that the creations are available on The Sims' community library, meaning everyone can download them and create their own Love Island 2017 sequel – and, maybe, finally Chris and Kem can be together.

Last night's (July 24) Love Island final was watched by almost three million viewers in the 9pm slot, beating BBC One, BBC Two, Channel 4 and Channel 5 in the ratings.

As a confirmation of the show's growing popularity, the 90-minute episode gained the biggest overnight audience in ITV2's history, and over double the 1.3m audience that the 2016 final of Love Island achieved.

And if you're still after a Love Island fix, the first two series are now available to watch (or rewatch) on ITV Hub.
