Louisiana State Police investigating after one person shot by deputy in Clinton
CLINTON, La. (BRPROUD) – The Louisiana State Police is investigating after a person was shot by an East Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy.
EFPSO identified the person who was shot as Zachary Williams.
Deputies were asked to investigate a disturbance at 11641 Oakwood Lane around 7:40 p.m. on Sunday, May 12.
“Upon the deputy’s arrival at that location the deputy was confronted by a subject with an AR
style rifle,” EFPSO said.
They said Williams “pointed the rifle at the deputy and the deputy shot him.”
EMS took Williams to the hospital.
According to LSP, no officers sustained injuries.
The investigation remains ongoing. LSP said more information will be released as it becomes available.
