Louisiana man faces new child porn, animal sex abuse charges

LIVINGSTON PARISH, La. (BRPROUD) — An ongoing investigation by the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office led to a Springfield man being booked on new charges.

LPSO said Michael Hunter Sharp, 24, was charged with 22 counts of pornography involving juveniles (under 13 years old) and 100 counts of sexual abuse of an animal (filming/images).

Sharp was originally booked into the Livingston Parish Jail on Jan. 11 and charged with four counts of possession of pornography involving juveniles and four counts of sexual abuse of an animal (images/filming).

The initial investigation started in December 2023 after LPSO received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Sharp was booked on the new charges Friday, May 3. His bond is now $4,400,000.
