Louisiana man drowns at The Wharf in Orange Beach: Police

ORANGE BEACH, Ala. (WKRG) — A Louisiana man’s body was found Saturday after he drowned while cleaning his boat at The Wharf, according to a news release from the Orange Beach Police Department.

The release said officers were called to The Wharf, located at 4851 Wharf Parkway, around 1 p.m. for a report of a Louisiana diver who had been cleaning his boat but had not been seen in several hours.

INCIDENT LOCATION:

Officers were able to verify that the man had entered the water around 7:30 a.m. Saturday but never resurfaced, according to the release.

Officials said multiple dive teams were sent into the water where they were able to recover the man’s body. His body was released to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for an autopsy; however, officers do not suspect foul play, according to the release.
