Following the release of My Scientology Movie, Louis Theroux has continued to create fascinating documentaries, including Drinking to Oblivion, A Different Brain, and Saville.

In an upcoming three-part series, the famed journalist will take an in-depth look at the Donald Trump “phenomenon” and the current “wave of popularism”.

“It feels like a whole cultural, almost sea change in how the world is part of the post-Brexit wave of populism,” he told The Mirror.

“The story seems to change every day with Trump. There’s something new bubbling under. It’s hard to get your head around such a big subject.”

“The challenge with Trump would be,” he continued. “Something so abhorrent that walks on two legs and is a human being, you have to explore where his foibles come from.”

The series was reportedly filmed in America. The BBC - mentioned in The Mirror's report - has denied they have anything planned with Theroux on Trump.
