Los Angeles bus driver punched, stabbed; attacker on the loose

Detectives are searching for a man who allegedly punched and stabbed a Los Angeles bus driver during an attack in the unincorporated Willowbrook area over the weekend.

The incident occurred on Saturday around 8:30 p.m. as the victim was driving his bus route, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department stated.

Investigators said the driver stopped the bus at East 119th Street and Wilmington Avenue when the suspect started yelling at him.

“The suspect, without provocation, punched the victim in the face then proceeded to stab the victim,” the Sheriff’s Department stated.

No details regarding the identity or condition of the victim were released.

The suspect, who authorities said was wanted for attempted murder, then exited the bus and fled northbound on Wilmington Avenue.
