There aren't many TV presenters who have interviewed as eclectic a group of people as Lorraine Kelly. She has fronted her morning chat show for 14 years, following up a career on shows like GMTV and This Morning.

Inevitably, she's had to interview some people she doesn't like very much. On Friday's episode of Late Night Lycett, Kelly explained how she deals with the fact that she sometimes has to be chummy on the sofa with unpleasant people.

Joe Lycett welcomed the 64-year-old presenting legend to his show alongside Britain's Got Talent judge Bruno Tonioli. Lycett asked Kelly whether there has ever been anybody she wouldn't be happy to interview.

"I think I would have everybody on the show," said Kelly, who went on to tell a story about an unpopular political guest who got away.

She said: "Matt Hancock was supposed to come on the show, but the day before he had been on something and he had worn this really cheesy black outfit jumper thing. I said he looked like a pound shop Milk Tray man to my lovely viewers. All of a sudden he wasn't available."

Kelly explained that even the most unpleasant of guests can serve a purpose, given that their unpleasantness will come through very clearly to viewers.

She said: "Honestly, I would have anybody on. It doesn't bother me. And even if they are horrid, just let them talk and then everybody will know how horrid they are."

Kelly later became the newest celebrity to sit alongside Lycett's "straight talking" news presenter character Richard Yewtree, reading outrageous lines from the autocue, including about the government's Rwanda plan.

Bruno Tonioli appeared alongside Kelly, telling stories about how his dancing career took him away from military service in Italy. Meanwhile, in the Hunderstudies segment that took Sinitta to a nudist spa last week, Lycett sent Celebs Go Dating star Tom Read Wilson to watch Blue perform in Gateshead.

Eventually, Lycett encouraged the star to join Blue on stage, dancing while they sung their 2002 single One Love. The live audience, unsurprisingly, seemed baffled.
