Lorde Pulls Out Her Most Futuristic Performance Look Yet at the Splendour in the Grass Festival

The singer chose a fun futuristic look by Sies Marjan.

Leave it to Lorde to usher out yet another unexpected performance look. The singer, who is currently on her Melodrama world tour, is no stranger to the art of theatrical costumes. She has proven she is the queen of style switch-ups on stage—one moment she’s in a full tulle princess dress by Off-White, the next she’s in loads and loads of Vaquera ruffles. While performing at the Splendour in the Grass music festival in Australia this weekend, she debuted yet another notable look, this time enlisting the eye of up-and-coming label Sies Marjan.

Working with stylist Karla Welch on a custom ensemble, Lorde wore New York-based designer Sander Lak’s iridescent button-up shirt and belted wide leg pants combo, both of which had a laminated finish. It was futuristic and, most of all, fun. Lak is particularly known for his use of materials, and his Fall 2018 collection featured similar holographics done on trench coats and bags. Lorde finished off the look with a matching crop top, and white sneakers for a casual-cool finish.
