Looking for free Dreamville Festival 2024 events? Here’s where to find them in Raleigh

There are just a few days left before thousands of fans fill Dorothea Dix Park for Dreamville Festival on April 6-7.

Big names this year include Grammy Award winners SZA and Chris Brown, and self-proclaimed “Queen of Rap” Nicki Minaj. J. Cole, the Fayetteville-raised rapper and the festival’s creator, will perform alongside Minaj on Sunday night.

Even if you don’t plan to attend the festival, however, you can still enjoy free events April 3 to 5. Watch for RSVP links to these events in the coming days.

Wednesday, April 3: Pop-up shop and comedy show

Dreamville Apparel Pop-up Shop, 207 S. West St., noon to 7 p.m.

Dreamville Presents: “Punchanella Comedy Clash” with Doctur Dot and Friends, 7 to 10 p.m., Goodnights Comedy Club, 401 Woodburn Road

  • Hosted by Doctur Dot of EARTHGANG, the show features national touring and local comedians.

  • This is a 21+ event and requires an RSVP

Thursday, April 4: Pop-up shop and games

Dreamville Apparel Pop-up Shop, 207 S. West St., noon to 7 p.m.

Omen’s Game Get Together, Kings and Neptunes live music and comedy venue, 14 W. Martin St., 6 to 9 p.m.

  • Hosted by Dreamville’s Omen, play games like Connect 4, Darts, Jenga, Uno and Monopoly.

  • This is a 21+ event and requires an RSVP

Friday, April 5: performance and activities

“Up” with Olu X 4th Qtr Performance Presented by Compxss, N.C. State University campus, 10 a.m. to noon

  • This is a yoga session beginning at 10 a.m. co-led by rapper OLU of EARTHGANG

  • All ages are welcome with an RSVP

Amazon Music Presents: Dreamville Public Access, CAM Raleigh, 409 W. Martin St., 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

  • Curated by Dreamville, EngineEars, and Amazon Music, Public Access is a day-long program of discussions with creatives, music producers and industry leaders.

  • No RSVP is required

Dreamville Apparel Pop-up Shop, 207 S. West St., noon to 7 p.m.

Amazon Music Presents: Gold Mouf Garage with Lute, South Harrington Street (next to CAM Raleigh), 1 to 8 p.m.

  • Free block party featuring DJs, performances, food, low-riders, and other classic cars hosted by NC native and Dreamville Records emcee Lute

  • No RSVP required, and all ages welcome

Everybody Fiends with Bas, S. Harrington Street (next to CAM Raleigh), 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

  • Rapper Bas and The Fiends invite fans to immerse themselves in Dreamville’s bespoke portrait studio and enjoy a creative gathering designed to inspire and connect like-minded individuals

Dreamville Festival Lineup

Saturday, April 6

On opening day, R&B singers and performers SZA and Chris Brown are headlining.

SZA (pronounced SIZ-a) recently won three Grammy Awards for her album “SOS” and performed at the Dreamville Festival in its inaugural year, 2019. Brown, a Virginia native, released his 11th studio album last year.

Rappers ScHoolboy Q, Lil Yachty, Sexxy Red and J.I.D will perform on Saturday. Other performers include:

Sunday, April 7

Cole and Minaj will headline.

Cole first gained recognition in 2007 with his mixtape “The Come Up” and later signed to rapper Jay-Z’s Roc Nation record label. He created Dreamville Festival as an extension of his recording label, Dreamville Records.

Billboard called Minaj one of the greatest rappers of all time. She released her fifth studio album, “Pink Friday 2,” in December, featuring a song with Cole.

R&B singers Monica, Muni Long and Nigerian artist Rema will perform Sunday, along with Atlanta-native rapper Jezzy. Other artists include:

Dreamville Festival has made more general admission tickets available. Last year’s festival saw 100,000 attendees over both days, and tickets sold out within days.

All tickets give fans access to both entrances of the park Saturday and Sunday and access to all food and drink vendors.

General admission tickets also include access to bars, concessions, official festival and artist merchandise, free water stations and specialty items from art vendors. These tickets begin at $349.
