'They looked scary good:' Recruits react to Ohio State's dominant win vs. Wisconsin

Ohio State football pulled out all the stops during its Big Ten opener against Wisconsin.

The Buckeyes, playing their third night game in four games, hosted many highly-regarded recruits, from their entire 2023 wide receiver class to five-star defensive end Keon Keeley.

Here's a look at how a few recruits in attendance for the 52-21 win against the Badgers felt about the atmosphere Saturday night and what they saw from Ohio State against Wisconsin.

2024 CB Bryce West impressed by Ohio State playing with momentum

During Bryce West's first visit to Ohio Stadium in 2022 for Ohio State's season-opening win against Notre Dame, he said the message head coach Ryan Day and the rest of the staff gave him was clear.

“There’s no place like home,” the 2024 cornerback out of Glenville High School in Cleveland said. “There’s nowhere else you would rather be.”

It was something West wanted to experience again.

The 2024 cornerback was back at Ohio Stadium during the Buckeyes' 52-21 win against Wisconsin in their Big Ten opener. And West left impressed, especially with Ohio State's fast start with a 21-point first quarter.

"Seeing that they can execute fast when they're playing good and their momentum is there," West said.

West has already gotten the attention of programs around the country, earning offers from Big Ten programs like Michigan, Michigan State and Penn State, along with Alabama, Georgia, Notre Dame and Tennessee offers.

But the four-star cornerback, who is the No. 37 player and the No. 1 2024 prospect in the state of Ohio according to the 247Sports composite rankings, sees potential of what he could do immediately if he were to join the Ohio State football program, watching the "young boys" like JK Johnson and Jyaire Brown come in and "execute."

Bryson Rodgers continues to form bonds with Ohio State's other 2023 WR commits

Bryson Rodgers, a four-star wide receiver out of Zephyrhills, Florida, was also at Ohio State's season opener against Notre Dame.

But Saturday's prime-time game was an opportunity for the Ohio State commit to experience his future home with the rest of the Buckeyes' 2023 wide receivers.

Rodgers attended the Buckeyes' win against Wisconsin with five-star commit Brandon Inniss, four-star commit Carnell Tate and four-star Noah Rogers, who each committed to Ohio State in three straight days in June.

Rodgers, the No. 251 player and the No. 32 wide receiver in the 2023 class, left impressed by how close he was with the current Ohio State team and coaching staff from the moment he arrived Saturday morning. But he said his focus was on continuing to make bonds with the other 2023 wide receiver commits.

"Getting to get our bond strong early will be key for when we are all there playing together," Rodgers said.

'They just mauled anybody and everybody'

2024 four-star offensive lineman Ian Moore out of New Palestine, Indiana was back for his second game of the season, calling Ohio State's performance and the atmosphere surrounding Ohio Stadium "really impressive."

Moore was equally impressed with Ohio State offensive line coach Justin Frye and the Buckeyes' performance up front.

"They looked scary good," Moore said. "They just mauled anybody and everybody."

Moore earned an Ohio State offer in June, and holds offers from Iowa and Wisconsin, along with programs like Penn State, Nebraska, Tennessee and Florida State.

'It was an amazing experience, as usual'

Ohio State was 2024 four-star wide receiver Mylan Graham's first offer back on June 1.

Visiting Ohio Stadium as the No. 9 receiver in the class with the attention of Alabama and Notre Dame, Graham called it "an amazing experience, as usual," getting to meet with Inniss, Tate, Rogers and Rodgers and enjoying how the Buckeyes' offense looked.

2024 three-star athlete Cameron Frazier out of KIPP Columbus enjoyed everything about the atmosphere of the Ohio State vs. Wisconsin game, calling the combination of the music, the crowd noise and the players making plays an energy-builder.

"I mean, I can say it’s no better place to be (than) at home," Frazier said.

2025 athlete Josiah Abdullah out of Woodward Academy in Atlanta said this was his second time coming for a game at Ohio Stadium, but his first as a recruit, leaving impressed by the coaches and Ohio State's receivers.
