Longtime tri-tip eatery expands to this Sacramento neighborhood. What’s on the menu?
Tri-tip tacos? One Sacramento-area eatery claims to do it best.
Roundhouse Deli opened its third location in the region at 1914 Alhambra Blvd. last week, a social media post from the company announced. The restaurant sells burritos, tacos, burgers and sandwiches. It’s in the Alhambra Triangle neighborhood, just south of East Sacramento.
The other sites are at 604 Church St. in Roseville and 8450 Elk Grove Blvd. in Elk Grove.
The family-owned and operated business has been a fixture in the Sacramento area for decades, according to a previous Sacramento Bee story. In 2020, the original site in Roseville ranked No. 15 on Yelp’s list of “America’s Top 100 Places to Eat” for that year.
Current owner Maria Ruelas has the mind behind the tri-tip taco, a customer favorite.
The signature dish started as a special order and eventually became popular. Then Ruelas took a bite of the meaty concoction.
“I just thought that the taco was amazing,” she told The Bee in a 2020 interview. “I fell in love with it.”
According to the eatery’s website, the order comes with three tacos topped with lettuce, tomatoes and cheese.
As of Thursday morning, Roundhouse Deli representatives were not available for comment.
What’s on the menu?
Roundhouse Deli’s menu ranges from side dishes like leafy salad to sandwiches assembled with hot pastrami and cheesesteak.
Breakfast is served from 7 to 10:30 a.m. and the list includes sandwiches and burritos.
The Trash Burrito is rolled with sausage, potatoes, eggs, beans, jalapeños, lettuce, onions and two types of cheeses.
The burger list includes a variety of options with bacon, pastrami, Swiss cheese and ranch toppings.
Also available are fries, and potato and macaroni salads.
Prices are listed at each location, the business stated.
Roundhouse Deli opens third location in Sacramento
Roundhouse Deli at 1914 Alhambra Blvd. in the Alhambra Triangle neighborhood operates five days a week.
Business hours are from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.
