London (AFP) - London's main stock market rose at the start of trading on Friday, rebounding from losses caused by reports of increased Russian interference in war-torn Ukraine.

The benchmark FTSE 100 index gained 0.25 percent to 6,822.78 points.

Elsewhere Frankfurt's DAX 30 rose 0.22 percent to 9,483.42 points and the CAC 40 index in Paris added 0.33 percent to 4,380.61 compared with Thursday's close.

European equities slipped Thursday as claims of Russian troops actively fighting in eastern Ukraine raised fears of a military confrontation between Kiev and its former Soviet master.
