Logansport Parks Foundation receives $50K grant for Christmas tree purchase

May 15—The Cass County Community Foundation announced the first grant from the Daniel C. Anderson Fund is a $50,000 gift to the Logansport Parks Foundation for the purchase of a community Christmas tree to be in the new downtown Urban Park in memory of Daniel's father, Mike Anderson.

Mike Anderson, who passed away on September 1, 2019, left a legacy through the Cass County Community Foundation that will continue his philanthropy and improve lives through two funds established with his trust, the Daniel C Anderson Donor Advised Fund, and the Kathryn Anderson Props Donor Advised Fund. The funds allow both Daniel and Katy to make periodic recommendations to the CCCF Board of Directors for support of projects and charities.

"We are thrilled that Daniel chose to fund this wonderful holiday centerpiece for the entire community to enjoy," said Deanna Crispen, CCCF president and CEO. "The 30-foot Christmas tree will be the focal point of the Christmas celebrations downtown and provide opportunities for several gatherings, musical events, and possibly a holiday market area."
