Local school warned of police impersonator: Arrest made

WELLINGTON, Ohio (WJW) — An Amherst man has been arrested after school officials said he called Wellington High School Thursday morning impersonating a police officer.

Superintendent Edward Weber said: “Wellington High School received a call from a man who identified himself as a Cleveland police officer (which he is not) and requested to visit a teacher at the high school. Our staff member stated that she cannot let visitors into the school.”

At no time did the man arrive on school property, Weber said.

According to the Lorain County Jail, 26-year-old Nathaniel Reynolds was arrested Thursday evening for impersonating a peace officer/private officer.
