Local, regional savings on Amtrak, VRE, MARC could stretch your dollar

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Amtrak said it was actively adding trips for commuters on the east coast, potentially allowing for more opportunities for work travel and regional vacation getaways.

Amtrak indicated last month that its Northeast regional service will increase up to 20% more for weekday trips over the next year and add 1 million additional seats.

The White House said these regional trains carry five times more people than flights between D.C. and New York.

The commuter also offers a buy one get one half off on a train to Maine.

Amtrak also offers vacation package, including for national parks of Southwest states, Glacier National Park, and more. Promo codes are also available on their website to bring down costs further.

Out-of-the-park savings for Nationals 2024 season

VRE offers reduced fares for Fredericksburg and Manass, as well as 50% off for qualified passengers like seniors, children and those with disabilities.

MARC also indicates that it offers sales for seniors, children and those with disabilities, meanwhile, also promoting the MARC Student Advantage Discount.
