Local high school robotics team wins 2024 West Virginia Robotics Teamwork State Championship

MERCER COUNTY, WV (WVNS) — A local high school team won the West Virginia Robotics Teamwork State Championship and the Skills Champion Award.

Now those students have the chance to go even further.

According to a Facebook post from Mercer County Schools, on Thursday, March 14, 2024 in Fairmont, West Virginia, Montcalm High School Team B won the West Virginia Robotics Teamwork State Championship, as well as the Skills Champion Award, giving them a shot at the 2024 World Championship in Dallas, Texas.

2024 West Virginia Academic Showdown to be hosted by Concord University

Montcalm High School is not the only local school that had a team place in the state championship, Princeton Middle School Team A came in third place and received the State Championship Design Award.

Montcalm, West Virginia only has elementary school and high school buildings.
