(WJW) – No one was fortunate enough to hit the Powerball Jackpot worth more than $1 billion, but the April 3 drawing still gave some lucky lottery players a windfall of cash.

According to lottery officials, nine tickets matched all five white balls to win $1 million prizes. Those tickets were sold in California (2), Georgia, Massachusetts (2), Maryland, New Jersey, South Carolina and Washington.

“As the jackpot swells, so does the probability of someone winning,” said Powerball Product Group Chair and Pennsylvania Lottery Executive Director Drew Svitko in a press release. “We expect to see more coverage of number combinations in Saturday’s drawing.”

The odds of winning the jackpot are just 1 in 292.2 million.

The current jackpot run has landed in the record books as one of the game’s longest streaks without a jackpot winner, said experts. The last time the Powerball jackpot was won was Jan 1, 2024.
