Local Experimental Aircraft Association chapter hosting bingo and baked potato dinner Saturday

Apr. 12—The Chehalis-based Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 609 will host a bingo and baked potato dinner night Saturday, April 13, at the Trinity Rebekah Lodge, located at 111 W. Washington St. in Napavine.

Dinner starts at 4 p.m. and includes two bingo cards for the price of $25 per person, according to an EAA news release. Bingo begins at 6 p.m. and additional cards may be purchased for $5 each. This event is cash only.

In addition to bingo, a raffle will also be held with prizes including a guided fishing trip, a diecast model of the North American B-25 Mitchell WWII-era bomber, tickets to a Seattle Mariners game and more.

All proceeds go toward EAA Chapter 609 to be used to help the club grow and fund community events such as the Young Eagles Flights offering free flights for kids, the Our Kids Build and Fly program, Eagles Flights for adults and scholarships for local aspiring pilots.

Founded in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1953, the EAA is a group of diverse members with a wide range of aviation interests and backgrounds according to its website.

It was originally meant to help those interested in building their own aircraft, but soon expanded to include antique aircraft, classic warbirds, aerobatic aircraft, ultralights, helicopters and contemporary manufactured aircraft.
