CHILLICOTHE — In his over 50 years in business with Neff's Hallmark Jerry Neff has seen trends come and go through his store. However, he soon won't be a part of his loyal customers' lives as he plans to close the store at the end of May.

At Neff's Hallmark on Bridge Street, customers can find a variety of cards, customizable shirts and candles all at a low price. Neff jokes saying there are three prices in the world wholesale, discount and Neffs. He often worked with businesses, organizations and individuals who loved his low prices.

The store itself has been open for 55 years and Neff said he knows once he leaves his customers won't be able to get the deals they once did. He ultimately has to close due to costs as he has to pay rent to house items that aren't selling, like the Hallmark cards.

Throughout his time Neff has made a lot of good memories with his customers and coworkers. He is especially proud of how creative those in the store are with the designs, many of which have sold hundreds of shirts.

"This is the reason I come to work," said Neff of those in the store around him.

While he will miss the store at 85 years old Neff said he is ready to retire. He plans on spending his now free time fixing up his house in the woods and visiting friends in Florida when it is cold in Ohio.

Neff's Hallmark will be officially closing on May 31, 2024.
