Local businesses prepare to bring out special gear for LSU women’s basketball, gymnastics SEC championship

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Local businesses are getting ready for fans to come storming in as the LSU women’s basketball team gets ready to head to their Sweet 16 matchup against UCLA.

A time where local businesses, like the Anthony Lawrence Collection in Baton Rouge, makes special gear.

“Super proud of the LSU Tiger ladies as they go into the Sweet 16. However, we want to make sure that we’re doing the right thing for the university, and we have gear that reflects LSU and that’s quality gear,” said Christine Lynn, sales consultant of the Anthony Lawrence Collection.

Rally House on Siegen Lane is also in the works of new gear. The store just launched LSU gymnastics championship t-shirts, another LSU success that is set to bring money to the company, according to store manager of Rally House Baton Rouge Shynikqua White.

“We actually have the gymnastics championship shirts that came in… the 2024. We actually got them today. So, we’re shipping them out,” White said.

Lynn said the Anthony Lawrence collection store feeds off positively from college teams’ success and considers it a big win locally.

“So, when our college teams do well, of course, people want the brand, they want to represent that school across their chest and wear gear to represent the greatness of that university. So, this is awesome for us,” Lynn said.

Lynn adds as people get ready to bleed the purple and gold, she emphasizes a special reminder for the community.
