“I was inspired by the flourishing wildlife native to the Chihuahuan Desert. I bring each element of the composition to life by individually drawing with graphite, scanning at high resolution, and collaging digitally to produce high-quality digital composite images, which I put through the screen-printing process on to wood veneer,” said Gabriel Marquez.

MBP says Lauterbach, Borschow & Co. was motivated to support Marquez’s La Nube project through the firm’s deep-seated belief in the power of STEAM to inspire, educate and enrich the lives of the young and the young at heart.

“In Gabriel Marquez, they see a visionary artist whose work honors and captures the beauty of our native desert landscape and wildlife. The leadership at Lauterbach, Borschow & Co. is excited to contribute to this transformative endeavor that will inspire the next generation of innovators, problem-solvers, and critical thinkers within the El Paso community,” read the press release.

“We are committed to enriching our community’s cultural and educational foundations. Our collaboration with La Nube is more than a philanthropic endeavor. It is an embodiment of our commitment to the vibrant future of El Paso. We are honored to support a space where children can explore, innovate, and envision new possibilities. Our contribution to the cultural framework of our community is a step forward in continuing a tradition of service, leadership, and dedication for the benefit of El Paso’s future generations,” said Matt Kerr, managing partner at Lauterbach, Borschow & Co.

MBP says that Marquez’s work explores thoughts of motion and stillness through the use of progressive contour lines, which depict a pictorial realm that wanders between emptiness and fullness.

Additionally, his images are the culmination of a continuous flow of intricate linear forms with the motif of intertwining threads, according to MBP.
