‘We’ll be in touch soon’: Police in Wisconsin thank burglar for leaving blood at crime scene

PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. (WFRV) – The Pleasant Prairie Police Department is thanking a suspect for leaving blood on a smashed jewelry case at a JCPenney during a burglary of the business.

According to the officers, early Thursday morning, the department received an alarm at JCPenney. Three suspects had smashed the front door and went to the jewelry department.

The suspects allegedly made off with some low level jewelry and fled the scene, but not before a rookie mistake from one of the alleged thiefs.

“To the overzealous burglar who left his blood on the smashed jewelry case, we say THANK YOU,” said officials with the Pleasant Prairie Police Department. “It is refreshing to see criminals work so hard to assist us in their eventual capture. We will be in touch soon!”

There is no information regarding if officers have arrested any of the alleged suspects at this time.

Officers also thanked the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office for assisting in the incident.
