LIVE UPDATES: Several races have yet to be called in Georgia’s primary

Several races have been called in Georgia’s primary. Today’s includes a state Supreme Court race that’s grown unusually heated by the sleepy standards of the state’s nonpartisan judicial elections, as well as a five-way GOP primary for an open seat in the strongly Republican 3rd Congressional District south and west of Atlanta.

Runoffs will be held June 18 in races where candidates don’t win a majority.

With 100% of the votes reported in the Cobb County District Attorney’s race, it appears current D.A. Flynn Broady Jr. has lost to Democratic challenger Sonya Allen.

12:22 a.m.

With 100% of the votes reported, it appears voters have approved the creation of the City of Mulberry, according to the Secretary of State’s Office website.

With 98% of the votes reported in the Gwinnett County District Attorney’s race, it appears current D.A. Patsy Austin-Gatson will win another term, according to the Secretary of State’s Office website.

With 98% of the votes reported in the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s race, it appears current Sheriff Keybo Taylor (D) and Mike Baker (R) will face off in the November general election, according to the Secretary of State’s Office website.

With 100% of the votes reported in the DeKalb County CEO race, it appears Lorraine Cochran-Johnson and Larry Johnson will advance to a runoff, according to the Secretary of State’s Office website.

With 100% of the votes reported in the Fulton County sheriff race, it appears current Sheriff Pat Labat will win the Democratic nomination.

With 100% of the votes reported in the Henry County sheriff race, it appears current Sheriff Reginald Scandrett (D) will advance to the general election where he will face off with Republican John Lee Redlinger, who ran uncontested.

Incumbent Fulton County Sheriff Patrick Labat appears to be well ahead of his competitors according to current election results.

Darrius Butler wins Democratic nomination for U.S. House in Georgia’s 8th Congressional District, AP projects

7:46 p.m.

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee, the judge presiding over the Georgia election interference case against former President Donald Trump, has won his race to keep his seat, AP reports. He will now have a full 4-year term on the bench beginning in January.

Lucy McBath wins Democratic nomination for U.S. House in Georgia’s 6th Congressional District, the Associated Press projects.

The Associated Press projects that Fani Willis will win the Democratic primary for Fulton County District Attorney. She will now face Republican lawyer Courtney Kramer in the general election.
