‘We live and breathe Illini basketball’: Orange Krush heads to Boston

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — Illinois men’s basketball is taking on Iowa State in Boston. And U of I’s Orange Krush is trailing right behind them.

The student organization made sure to be right beside the players as they enter the Sweet 16. Wednesday night, students filed onto a last-minute charter bus just to make it to Boston in time to cheer their team on. They say seeing the Illini make it this far is enough to make the 16-hour trip worth it.

“The people that are going, these Krush people, we live and breathe Illini basketball,” said Zach Torf, Orange Krush Vice President, “So just to be able to see this team play on the biggest stage they played on and for us to be able to help them move on further is great for us.”

He says the ride will be filled with chants, the Illini anthem, plenty of homework, but most importantly getting hyped for the game.
