LIST: Earth Day events in the Tampa Bay area

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Earth Day is on Monday, and several events will be held in the Tampa Bay area to celebrate the day.

Earth Day is a day to raise awareness for environmental causes and protecting the Earth’s resources.

This list is not all-inclusive and will continually be updated. Events are Monday unless otherwise noted.

Polk County

Fort Meade
Fort Meade Fire Station
Residents can recycle old electronics to promote environmental awareness. Drop-off is available from Saturday through April 30 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Sarasota County

Venice
Wellen Park
Free tree saplings will be given out and there will be a family-friendly movie night on the lawn. Saplings are available from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Pinellas County

Tierra Verde
Tampa Bay Watch Marine Education Center
From 9 a.m. to noon, dock owners can get vertical oyster gardens, which are made of recycled oyster shells that are draped from docks for juvenile oysters to attach to and develop.

Sunset Beach
Caddy’s Waterfront Restaurant
The restaurant encourages guests to preserve the beach by cleaning up the area from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Free parking is available at the Archibald Memorial Beach Park and John’s pass. There will be safety gear, cleaning supplies, free food and t-shirts.

Pinellas County
On the SunRunner
From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., the SunRunner will be free, and passengers can experience live performances from local musicians. Those who listen to the music will receive a ticket to the Earth Day celebration at the Dolphin Beach Resort.

Clearwater
Stevenson Creek
A cleanup will be held at Stevenson Creek from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
