Line forms outside Loomis Costco 48 hours before grand opening

(FOX40.COM) — Fans of the warehouse retailer Costco have already begun to cue outside of the chain’s newest location in Loomis, more than 24 hours before it is set to open.

On Wednesday, FOX40.com spotted a group of more than a dozen people waiting outside the newest location to open in Placer County.

When these eager shoppers were asked why they had already begun the long wait outside of the store they all had the same answer: whiskey and bourbon.

According to the group, Costco stocks its shelf with limited-release whiskey and bourbons during their grand openings.

Word has spread about this Costco phenomenon to the point that one person waiting outside the Loomis store made the more than 100-mile trek from San Francisco to get their hands on some bottles.

The Loomis Costco location at 4010 Sierra College Blvd. will officially open its doors at 8 a.m. on Thursday and will be the retailer’s second location in Placer County.
