Limestone suffered storm damage from a possible tornado

May 9—Wednesday night's storms caused damage from a possible tornado in southwest Limestone County, but Morgan and Lawrence counties reported no damage.

Trent Simon, Limestone County Emergency Management Agency officer, said the majority of the county's damage was in the Brigadoon subdivision in southwest Limestone County. He said trees have fallen on about 20 houses, leaving some demolished. Simon said there were reports of several trees down in other parts of the county, however no reports of any fatalities or people being injured.

Issac Jones, National Weather Service of Huntsville meteorologist, said they have crews in southwestern Limestone County assessing damage and determining whether there were one or more tornadoes in the area. He said it could be days before they will have the results.

Jonathan Warner, Morgan County EMA director, and Chris Waldrep, Lawrence County EMA director, both reported no damage or injuries in their counties.
