Lily-Rose Depp: My Parents Are 'Supportive of Everything That I Do'
Her mother Vanessa Paradis has been a Chanel spokeswoman since 1991, so in a way it's fitting that Lily-Rose Depp is the newest face of the iconic brand's new fragrance, No. 5 L'EAU.
"For me, Chanel has always been the highest level of fashion and class that there ever could be," Lily-Rose tells PEOPLE at an intimate Chanel dinner celebrating the fragrance at Sunset Tower in Los Angeles on Sept. 22. "My whole childhood I just grew up with that notion, and just loving Chanel so much, and thinking it was the most beautiful and elegant."

And the star says her famous parents – dad is Johnny Depp, mom is French actress-singer Vanessa Paradis – are more than supportive of her burgeoning career. "They were really excited, just like any parents would be," says Lily-Rose of the hot new campaign. "They were just really happy for me, and really excited."
Still, the 17-year-old says she's forging her own path when it comes to the fashion world. "[My parents] aren't really the kind of people who would [offer advice] unless I asked for it," she says. "I'm really independent and they are very supportive of everything I do."
