Lily And Cane's Marriage Faces New Troubles On 'The Young And The Restless'
Their attempt at reconnecting by attending couple's counseling failed to repair the problems in their marriage. Now, Lily and Cane will find themselves both dealing with the disappointment in different ways on the Thursday, Sept. 21 episode of "The Young and the Restless."
They've been separated since Lily (Christel Khalil) learned that Cane (Daniel Godard) not only slept with Juliet (Laur Allen) and got her pregnant, but tried to cover up his actions. They had stayed together despite that betrayal, but when his scheme to get Billy (Jason Thompson) fired from Brash and Sassy and the blackmail he paid to try and keep that news secret all came to light, Lily had enough on the CBS soap and kicked him out. Cane recently tried to repair things by suggesting counseling, but his lies, and the fact that Juliet was carrying his child when Lily no longer could became too much, and she walked out of the session.
Now, Lily is back at home with their children, and is hoping to have some quality time with her daughter, Mattie (Lexi Stevenson), who has been annoyed that her parent's problems have affected her ability to have a relationship with Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu). After hearing more discouraging news from Lily about her parent's marriage, Mattie will become further infuriated, and when Jordan (Darnell Kirkwood) shows up unexpectedly, she will snap that he can have dinner with her mother instead, because she's convinced Lily doesn't want to work things out with Cane any longer.
"Mom made dinner reservations at the club," she says in a preview clip. "You two can go together, since that's what she really wants."

Meanwhile, Cane will also find himself having dinner company when Juliet stops by, and the two discuss things about their son. However, when Cane doesn't seem to express much enthusiasm about becoming a father again, Juliet will express her concerns that he won't actually want to be a father to the child when he arrives.
"Sounds like you won't have the same love for this child as you do for Charlie and Mattie," she says in the clip.
Cane may admit to her that it will be hard for him to feel like he can become attached to this child because he will be torn between his two families. Though he isn't planning on being an absentee father to his new kid, his loyalties will first and foremost lie with the teenagers he shares with Lily, because they were the children he intended to have. However, when he realizes how much his answer upsets Juliet, he will try to once again assure her as well.
When she feels reassured again, the two will resume their friendlier conversation, which will include discussing things like baby names. However, as things once again turn a little more serious and intimate, Juliet may get the wrong idea, and could make a move on Cane that will continue bringing problems to his marriage.
"The Young and the Restless" airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
