Lily Allen claims James Corden 'came onto her' on TV but she didn't 'shut him down' for fear of 'snobbish' backlash

Lily Allen felt as though James Corden “came onto her” during a TV interview on her BBC Three talk show .

The 32-year-old singer’s claims come after she interviewed the League of Their Own presenter in the fifth episode of her own show Lily Allen and Friends in March 2008.

In the episode, James said to Lily: “Listen, ignore all those people over there, right, and I don’t know you…”

Lily then interrupted him, and joked: “Just f**k me … no, no,” which resulted in the audience erupting in laughter and applause.

She then said: “Thank you very much … that’s how you get into a girl’s pants. Well done, well done, James. Are you single at the moment?”

He replied: “Complicated … no I am, yeah.”

Lily has now claimed she wasn’t able to “shut him down” at the time because she would’ve been branded “cold” or “snobbish”.

When someone tweeted her claiming she was “horny for James Corden” alongside a link to the episode he appeared on , she replied: “No, I wasn’t horny for James cordon either, he came on to me in front of a studio audience, if I’d have shut him down, I would have been labeled cold or up myself or snobbish. (sic)”

Since James appeared on the show he has gone on to marry Julia Carey, with whom he has two kids, Max, six, and Carey, three, and the couple are expecting their third child in December.

Last month, James was forced to apologise after upsetting fans with an insensitive joke about Harvey Weinstein – who has been accused of sexual misconduct on a number of occasions in recent weeks – at a black-tie charity gala in Los Angeles.

James said afterwards: “To be clear, sexual assault is no laughing matter. I was not trying to make light of Harvey’s inexcusable behavior, but to shame him, the abuser, not his victims.

“I am truly sorry for anyone offended, that was never my intention.”

Yahoo has contacted a representative of James Corden for comment.
