Lightning, heavy rain, small hail possible south of I-70

ST. LOUIS – Thunderstorms with downpours, lightning, and some small hail will affect the southern half of the viewing area this afternoon. Areas most likely to be affected will be south of Interstate 70.

The risk that any of these storms will become severe is low – a Level 1 out of 5 risk. And even if they do, the threat is limited to nickel- or quarter-sized hail. These will be inconvenient storms for folks picking up kids from school, the bus stop, or if you have some shopping to do this afternoon.
