Wild Mountain, MN Announces Large Investment In Snowmaking Capabilities
Wild Mountain in Minnesota has just announced plans to allocate a lot of funds and make a large investment in their snow making capabilities.
Wild Mountain's plan is to expand their water pumping capacity out of their mountain top snow making pond, an investment which will grow their snow making capabilities by 33 percent when the temperatures drop into the teens. The extra water will allow the resort to operate an additional 50 whole snow guns when conditions are right.
While this is absolutely an amazing step for Midwest boarders and Wild Mountain in general, it is hard to not acknowledge the alarming necessity of this move due to warming winters, higher temperatures, and less snow fall. Better snow making capabilities will help combat the warm and wet winters seen in the Midwest in recent years, which is great, but the real problem does lie within global warming and climate change as a whole.
