Walmart Is Selling a $20 Quarter Zip Hoodie Similar to Lululemon and Athleta, and Shoppers Say It's 'So Soft'

Hoodies, especially ones with zippers, are wardrobe essentials. And they don’t have to just be for lounging and unkempt days; the nicer, usually more expensive ones are much more versatile and make for a comfy yet cute outfit you can throw on. While we mentioned these nicer-looking hoodies are usually from expensive brands like Lululemon and Athleta, Walmart’s new quarter zip hoodie is right up there with them in terms of looks (and for a fraction of the price).
The new Women’s Seamed Quarter Zip Hoodie by Walmart’s activewear brand, Avia, looks sleek and fashionable from the jump. It’s not cropped and has a simple style; a hooded quarter zip sweater with visible seams, made with a soft, scuba material. And that’s exactly what you get. According to the site, it’s a “naturally breathable fabric” made out of a lot of materials, but mostly rayon and recycled polyester (with some “spandex slub scuba” for that smooth look).

It comes in four colors—grayed teal, black, blue birch and lavender horizon—and in sizes ranging from XS to XXXL. Walmart shopping Instagram account @walmartfinds posted about these quarter zip hoodies, writing “POV: You’re getting major Lulu vibes at Walmart again!?!” in text over the video.
“Walmart does it again with this quarter zip made with the softest scuba knit fabric!” she wrote in her caption. “It reminds me so much of the popular Lulu half zips but it’s only $20.”
One commenter wrote that they bought the hoodie and that “they are so soft!” Another said, “This is my fave!!!” while someone else simply wrote, “Need!!!” And while there aren’t that many reviews yet, the ones that are there are favorable. One reviewer wrote that the hoodie is “[a] perfect fit, very comfortable and lightweight,” and they plan to buy more colors.
As we said up top, what’s also nice about this hoodie is that it’s so similar to brands like Lululemon—specifically their new Scuba Oversized Half-Zip Hoodie ($118)—and Athleta. The latter’s Seasoft Bubble Hem Hoodie ($99) might be the closest to Walmart’s Avia hoodie, though it doesn’t have a zipper. But the look of it and the smooth, soft material is very similar.

There’s also the Vuori Restore Organic Cotton Blend Half Zip Hoodie that’s sold at Nordstrom for $118. This one is made up of mostly cotton and doesn’t have as much of a “scuba” material look, but it’s pretty close.

And lastly, Abercrombie & Fitch has a “top-rated” Sunday Half-Zip Hoodie that’s maybe the closest to the Avia hoodie in terms of style; it also has exposed seams and a looser fit. The hoodie is $70 and comes in four colors, including terracotta, purple, blue and light grey. Abercrombie & Fitch’s hoodie is also made of more cotton than Walmart’s.

Walmart’s Avia Seamed Quarter Zip Hoodie is a good option for those who want a trendy and stylish smooth hoodie without breaking the bank. With its price being half as expensive as some of these options (even more than half for some), this hoodie might sell out quickly and it’s easy to see why.
