Utah Ski Resort Announces Multi-Day Closure

We are seeing resort closures across the American West as the latest storm kicks in.

Ringing true to its name, Powder Mountain, UT, is forecasted to see snow all though next week, but unfortunately, due to the winds that come with a blizzard, the resort will remain closed until the night of March 2nd.

The mountain report writes that "due to strong winds gusting as high as 70mph, night skiing is closed tonight, March 1st, and day skiing is closed tomorrow, March 2nd. Extreme winds make lift operations unsafe. The safety of our guests and employees is our top priority."

There is, however, the chance for night skiing at Powder Mountain on March 2nd.

With a base depth of 95 inches, currently, and 8 inches over the last week, there are solid skiing conditions at Powder Mountain.

Snow is predicted to fall at the resort into next week, where, starting Monday, things will be windy. However, Saturday could see up to 13 inches, Monday could see 5, and Tuesday could see 7.

When things blow over, pun intended, there will be phenomenal skiing on tap. Keep checking the weather forecasts, snow reports, and avalanche conditions, grab your powder skis, biggest baskets, and stay safe out there.
