We are about six months out from Joker: Folie à Deux hitting our screens, and star of the film, Lady Gaga, hit fans with a big announcement that included not one but two surprises.
The Academy Award winner shocked fans with the stunning new poster, captioning it, "The world is a stage."
Herself and Joaquin Phoenix adorn the image with a stream of light flooding from the top right, which aligns with what we know so far with Joker: Folie à Deux partially taking place in Arkham Asylum.
It also nods to this sequel being a jukebox musical, as the two appear to be tangled in a dance.

When Will There Be a Trailer for Joker 2?
Not only did Lady Gaga share the poster, but she also revealed a date for the film's upcoming trailer release.
She revealed that we will get our first preview of Joker: Folie à Deux on April 9.
What Rating Is Joker 2?
Alongside the trailer and poster announcement, it was revealed that Joker: Folie à Deux will receive an R rating for "some strong violence, language throughout, some sexuality, and brief full nudity".
When Will Joker 2 Be Released?
Joker: Folie à Deux will be in theaters on October 4, 2024.
However, if it follows in its predecessor's footsteps, it may also get a run on the festival circuit before its theatrical release.
