Couple Wakes up to Find Sloth Casually Hanging out in the Construction Site of Their House

Building a house is exciting, but it sure isn't easy. Especially when you're building it in the middle of Bocas del Toro, Panama, and a sloth climbs into construction during the middle of the night. That's exactly what happened to couple Bri and Andrew, who had to figure out how to gently get the little guy out.

This was a good lesson why you should always keep you windows closed — you never know who, or what, will crawl through.

In the video, the two joked that they'd had a "break in" overnight, but the burglar didn't leave the scene of the crime.

Nope, it was a sloth hanging from the rafters. And he wasn't going to get down without putting up a fight. They really wanted to make sure to gently remove the sloth so it wouldn't hurt itself. It was also covered in painter's tape, so they had to figure out a way to remove as much of the tape as they could. In the end, it took a little work but they safely got the sloth out. Whew, that was definitely a close one!

"Should we hire him to paint the ceiling?" they joked in the caption.

The comments section was laughing so hard at the interaction. "He pointed back like 'You watch yourself,'" joked one commenter. "I'm sorry...a sloth enters my home, he's now my BFF and I'm keeping him," someone else teased. "It’s like making your drunk friend go to bed," another commenter kidded. "It probably took him all night just to get up there," one woman pointed out.

Sloths’ Natural Habitat

No surprise here, but Sloths don't typically live in houses. And they don't live in the zoo either. Nope, Sloths are typically found throughout Central America and northern South America, as well as parts of Brazil and Peru.

Sloths tend to live high up in the trees of the tropical rainforest. While up there, they'll be curled up in the branches or can be found hanging upside down from the branches too. Sloths love to hang upside down so much, they'll eat, sleep, mate, and even give birth hanging upside down.

What Sloths Eat

Speaking of food, sloths love to eat leaves, fruit, and some green shoots. Sloths are mostly herbivores, though they'll sometimes snack on a larval insect or maybe even a bird egg. For water, they'll lap dew off fruits and leaves and will get water from their food.

So really, they couple should be flattered that the sloth came down from its favorite tree branch to pay them a visit. It was just popping in for a quick hello!
