‘Life in Pieces’ Preview: Guess Who Was a Mama’s Boy on His Wedding Night?
Who was the most romantic person on Jen and Greg’s 2011 wedding night? His mom.
OK, there’s a good explanation for that. Actually, nope, the explanation still makes it creepy. As we learn in Thursday’s new “#TBT: Y2K Sophia Honeymoon Critter” episode of Life in Pieces, Greg and Jen’s honeymoon hotel room came stocked with a bottle of champagne and two pretty glasses waiting for them.
But while Jen (Zoe Lister-Jones) assumes the hotel left the special gift for her and her new hubby (Colin Hanks), a note accompanying the goodies reveals the disturbing truth. “Enjoy each other in every way,” the missive reads. “Love, Mom.”
That particularly personal wedding-night advice came courtesy of Greg’s mama, Joan (Dianne Wiest). The evening gets even weirder in the preview clip above, as Greg spends part of his wedding night chatting endlessly to his mom on the phone. Even a negligee-clad Jen escapes his attention at first, and when he finally does get a look at his bride, he bids Joan adieu and promises to call her back … in two minutes.
Elsewhere in the #TBT-themed installment, John tries to warn everyone attending the Short family Y2K soiree that chaos will ensue when the clock strikes midnight; Heather and Tim recall their early parenting skills; and we witness the moment when Matt and Colleen met.
