Library News: Week of March 3, 2024

Mar. 3—WORTHINGTON — The Nobles County Library, 407 12th St., Worthington, is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The Adrian Branch Library, 214 Maine Ave., Adrian, is open from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, noon to 5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

** Due to staff development, the Worthington library will open later on the following dates:

March 8 and 15: Opening at 10 a.m.

April 12: Opening at 9:30 a.m.

The Winter Reading Program is nearing the end, complete your card by March 30. Read 12 books (or audio books/e-books) and bring your punch card back to choose your prize.

After you have turned in your completed card(s), be sure to fill out a raffle ticket for the grand prize drawing! Participants must be at least 16 years old to participate.

Monday: Wii (grades 4-9), after school until 4:45 p.m.

Tuesday: Kids Club (grades K-5), after school until 4:45 p.m.

Wednesday: Story Time (toddlers-preschoolers), 10 to 11 a.m.; Just Gurlz (girls grades 5-9), after school until 4:45 p.m.

Thursday: Kids Club (grades K-5), after school until 4:45 p.m.

Please call the library at (507) 295-5340 to sign up your children. Children are responsible for their own ride to and from the library. Please have your children picked up by 5 p.m.

March 5: Cross Stitch Class with Julie Buntjer, 6 to 8 p.m. This is the first of a two-part class; registration is required.

March 12: Cross Stitch Class with Julie Buntjer, 6 to 8 p.m. This is the second of a two-part class; registration is required.

March 18: Author visit with Mary Casanova, 10 a.m. This program is funded in part or in whole with money from Minnesota's Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund.

March 19: Board Game Night, 6 to 8 p.m. For ages 18+ please.

March 25: Friends of the Library Book Club, 6 p.m., discussing the book, "Go Set a Watchman" by Harper Lee. All are welcome!

New books for adults: "The Summer Book Club" by Susan Mallery, "Crime and Cherry Pits" by Amanda Flower, "Chasing Endless Summer" by V.C. Andrews, "Leaving" by Roxana Robinson and "Lone Wolf" by Gregg Hurwitz.

New large print books for adults: "A Season of Harvest" by Lauraine Snelling, "My Heart Will Find You" by Jude Deveraux, "Where Are the Children Now?" by Mary Higgins Clark and Alafair Burke and "Me an' Gus" by James D. Crownover.

New audiobook: "The Women" by Kristin Hannah.

New books for children: "The Cozy Home" by Ame Dyckman and Mark Teague, "Sunny Makes Her Case" by Jennifer L. Holm and Matthew Holm, "Lucky Duck" by Greg Pizzoli, "Cranky" by Phuc Tran and "The Teeny-Weeny Unicorn" by Shawn Harris.

New exhibit: The District 518 Student Art Show will hang in the Art Center Gallery through March 28.

Art Club: Meets at 5:30 p.m. on the fourth Monday of each month. There is no cost to join and all are welcome!
