Libraries around Kern to change hours of operation during summer

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Multiple libraries in Kern County will now be open five days a week, expanding resources for residents in need.

Starting June 4, The Library Department announced new hours for the following branches: Baker, Northeast, Wilson, Mojave and California City. Expanded services will be available including technology, resources and programs. The City of Bakersfield and County of Kern are committed to promoting literacy and fostering creative learning for residents of Kern County.

Organizers say each branch mentioned above will now be open Tuesday through Saturday. The libraries will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday. On Fridays, the hours change to 10 a.m. through 6 p.m. On the last day of the week, Saturday, the libraries will open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., according to organizers.
