Columbia and mid-Missouri comedy lovers have something new to look forward to, with The Blue Note's announcement of a date with Trae Crowder Oct. 6. Here's what to know.

Who is Trae Crowder?

If you're just catching up with Crowder's work, the Tennessee native created The Liberal Redneck, a character of sorts and a series that spun the Southern experience in a more progressive direction.

"The way I always describe that is, it's a character in that it's just me cranked up to 11 basically," Crowder told the Dallas Observer in 2019. "It all comes from an authentic place. I have a very stereotypical redneck background and upbringing and I am very liberal politically but I don't act that way all the time. I'm not hollering my opinions in people's face and stuff."

He has criss-crossed the country under his own name and on tour with peers Drew Morgan and Corey Ryan Forrester under the WellRED Comedy Tour banner. The trio penned the book "The Liberal Redneck Manifesto: Draggin' Dixie Outta the Dark," released in 2017.

Crowder owns a serious social-media following with hundreds of thousands of followers on Instagram and Twitter.

When do Trae Crowder tickets go on sale?

10 a.m. Friday, March 15. Tickets for Crowder's Oct. 6 date are $30-$50.
