Liam Hemsworth on His Relationship Status with Miley Cyrus: People Will 'Figure It Out'

Is there a wedding in the works for Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus? The hunky actor from Down Under won't confirm definitively – but says people are smart enough to figure out the couple's current relationship status on their own.

In a new interview with GQ Australia, the 26-year-old says of his reconciliation with former fiancé Cyrus, "People will figure it out, they already have... They're not dumb."

Earlier this year sources confirmed to PEOPLE that the couple had reunited. Soon after, Cyrus was spotted wearing the engagement ring Hemsworth had originally given her. Hemsworth later insisted, however, that he was "not engaged" during an interview with Australia's TV Week in late March.

Regardless, Cyrus and the Independence Day: Resurgence star have gone on multiple public outings together in recent months, even dining with Hemsworth's parents in Australia in late April.

"I guess when I feel something, then I just feel it and I go for it," Hemsworth told GQ of Cyrus. "I make my decisions about what's going to make me happy, what I think is right and what I want to do – and I don't worry too much outside of that."

Of initially splitting from Cyrus in 2013, the star said "Of course it was hard."

He continued, 'But at the time we were going in different directions and it's just what needed to happen. We were both super young and it was a good decision at the time – we both needed that."
