Liam Gallagher: 'I don't give a sh*t about brother Noel or his sh*t fans'

It’s fair to say that there is no love lost between brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher, with the pair being at loggerheads throughout their Oasis career and it only getting worse when the band split in 2009.

The pair’s feud was recently reignited when Liam slammed his brother for not joining him for Ariana Grande’s benefit concert One Love Manchester last month, and now the star has laid into his sibling again.

Speaking about an Oasis reunion, Liam insisted that it is Noel’s ‘ego’ which is holding them back, explaining to The Times: “Mate, it’s not up to me, is it? It’s in the hands of Noel.

“He’s got the biggest power and that’s what p*sses me off. It will depend on how his solo records go because his ego is out of control and he won’t be able to handle it if it dwindles, but he’s obviously got a massive problem with me.”

Liam went on to claim that the argument that split Oasis up eight years ago was only trivial, continuing: “As far as I’m concerned, it was a minor argument that broke up Oasis. We’ve had worse.

“I heard talk about him doing a solo career five years before, so he used it to jump ship. Right now I can’t give a sh*t about Oasis, Noel or his sh*t fans.”

Yikes – Liam’s not exactly one for sugarcoating, is he?

The singer, 44, also criticised his 50-year-old brother again for not showing up to One Love Manchester, even though it has since been revealed that Noel donated all of the royalties from Oasis’ hit song ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’ to help victims of the terror attack.

Liam seethed: “He’s made it clear that a reunion is not at the top of his priorities and right now it’s not the top of mine. I would prefer it if I was in Oasis, but that’s not what the Manchester concert was about.

“He could have got up and done ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’ and never even had to see me.

“Are you telling me that if Noel Gallagher rocked up with his guitar and knocked on the door they would say, ‘You’re not invited, mate’? So he can f*ck off on that one.

“I don’t care if he was in the Amalfi Coast or wherever, it lacked sympathy on his behalf. We have family and friends in Manchester and me mam’s still there, and it would have been nice to do it for his people. End of.”

Oasis split after they cancelled a headline slot at V Festival in 2009, with Liam left fuming when Noel released a statement saying that they cancelled due to his brother’s hangover, with Liam even filing a lawsuit against Noel.

After a further string of cancellations and reports of backstage fights, Noel quit in August, saying in a statement: “It is with some sadness and great relief, I quit Oasis tonight.

“People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.”
