As nice as the LC coupe is, we've been wondering for awhile when Lexus would build a convertible version to round out the lineup. Well, our questions have been answered: Meet the Lexus LC convertible "concept."

Though Lexus is badging this car as a concept, it looks pretty much production-ready. There's a full LC interior and even law-abiding bumper reflectors. The design is pretty much what you'd expect from an LC without a roof, meaning it's still painfully pretty. The proportions are just right, and those 22-inch wheels seem to fit right in. The fascia is unchanged from the hardtop model, so you still get that love-it-or-hate-it spindle grille, those concept-like headlights, and that flowing rear end.

Toyota hasn't revealed which of the two available LC powertrains lie under the hood of this car, or if both (or something totally different) will be available on the production version. Between the hybrid V6 and the naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8, we'd pick the latter. Imagine listening to that exhaust note with the top down? It doesn't get much better than that.

The LC convertible will make its first public appearance at the 2019 North American International Auto Show in Detroit next week alongside the RC F Track Pack (which will use a similar version of that V8).
