New Level Sports Ministries to honor Kyra Wallace during May 5 luncheon

BATTLE CREEK — Kyra Wallace will be honored for her nearly two decades of service with the Southwestern Michigan Urban League during a luncheon Friday, May 5.

The luncheon is open to the public and will be held at noon Friday at New Level Sports Ministries, 400 W. Michigan Ave. in Battle Creek. Erick Stewart will be the keynote speaker and local jazz fusion band Minor Element will also perform.

Wallace has served as president/CEO of the Southwestern Michigan Urban League for 14 of her 17 years with the organization, a nonprofit focused on providing educational economic development, cultural enrichment and health programs for Calhoun County youth and families.

Wallace announced in January that she would be stepping down as president/CEO in April to focus on entrepreneurial endeavors.
