LETTER: Gaetz making political move over safety of 30A festival attendees

I have been a volunteer for the 30A Songwriters Festival for many years. Many of us appreciate the effort of the organizers to do their best to keep everyone safe from COVID during this year's festival. It is disgusting that Congressman Matt Gaetz would make this an issue.

This is purely a political move over our health and safety! Threatening removal of possible marketing funding from the county for an event that brings an enormous amount of money to the area is ridiculous.

These safety protocols also might reduce the stress experienced by our health professionals and hospitals!

Many people would have refused to attend or volunteer if these protocols were not in place.
